Dr. Abdurrazak Gehani, a highly accomplished Senior Consultant Interventional Cardiologist and Associate Professor of Medicine/Cardiology at Weill Cornell Medical College. 

  • Dr. Abdurrazak Gehani completed his MRCP (UK) in 1985.
  • He underwent specialized training in clinical and interventional cardiology in the UK and later became a Consultant Cardiologist.
  • Dr. Gehani conducted post-doctoral MD research in 'Advanced Percutaneous Angioplasty Techniques,
  • Angioscopy, Stenting, and related Platelet function Studies.'His research received international recognition, with awards such as the Croom Lectureship Award of the Royal College of Physicians of
  • Edinburgh and The David Mitchell Lectureship Award of the Royal College of Physicians and Surgeons of Ireland.
  • He was the Sole winner of the Young Investigators Award of the American College of Angiology.
  • Dr. Gehani serves as the Program Director of Nationwide Primary PCI in Qatar, and the program won the Star of Merits Award in 2013.
  • He has a significant interest in pacing and device electrophysiology implantation.

Dr. Gehani has a rich profile in conducting carious procedures: 

Coronary Angiography: This is a medical procedure used to visualize the blood vessels of the heart (coronary arteries) by injecting contrast material into the bloodstream and taking X-ray images.

PCI (Percutaneous Coronary Intervention): This includes procedures such as balloon angioplasty and stent placement to treat narrowed or blocked coronary arteries, improving blood flow to the heart.

Pacemaker Implantation: Dr. Gehani has experience in implanting pacemakers, which are devices that help regulate and normalize the heart's rhythm.

Renal Angioplasty: This procedure involves the use of a balloon to open narrowed or blocked blood vessels leading to the kidneys, typically to improve blood flow and treat conditions such as renal artery stenosis.

Peripheral Angiography / Angioplasty: Similar to coronary angiography and angioplasty, these procedures focus on blood vessels outside the heart, often in the legs or arms.
